Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, a wife and a homemaker but I am also a woman of many passions! I love creating with my hands and I especially love fiber crafts. So crochet, sewing, spinning and embroidery are the main crafts I dabble in but I also love cooking, baking and bread making too! I mostly create for my family as it truly brings me so much joy. I am a big homebody, my chickens are my greatest friends and I just love living simply and slowly, cultivating as much connection as possible.
Your lifestyle is truly inspiring, embracing traditional skills and holistic practices. We're curious, what sparked your interest in learning these traditional skills and arts?
Becoming a mother truly inspired me alot and although it was daunting becoming a mother it actually allowed me to embrace who I was completely. I have always been a creative person so after having my first baby I felt really inspired to start making our food from scratch, crocheting baby clothes & blankets and embracing my role as a homemaker so we could live more intentionally and show our kids how to do the same. I want to teach my kids to create instead of consume and to have the opportunity to learn basic life skills that bring a sense of wholesomeness to their life.
Crochet seems to be a significant part of your creative journey. What initially drew you to this craft?
My nan used to crochet a lot so my home growing up was always filled with her blankets that she made my mum over the years so I was naturally drawn to this craft. As a busy mum I wanted to find something that would nurture my creativity but something I could pick up and put down so I booked lessons to learn crochet at Studio Yarn Cooran (my nan lives far away unfortunately) and I haven't been able to put down my crochet hook since. It was like my hands had done this craft before and it just came so naturally to me, I enjoyed it SO much. Every minute I'm not mothering or tending to my home I have a crochet hook in hand and now I’m developing my own crochet patterns to share!
Can you share your personal journey with holistic living and how this has influenced your family dynamics?
I didn’t grow up living a holistic lifestyle, this was definitely something that my husband and I desired for our children as we both came from broken families with unhealthy habits. It was actually kind of a blessing though because our journey led us to each other and we are so deeply in love. After I birthed my first baby, It was always a given that I would be a stay at home mum while my husband provided and ran his own business and through embracing those roles we both developed a passion for living a lifestyle that was full of connection and a life that was slow, simple and family orientated. My husband had some serious health issues a little over a year ago which required some big lifestyle changes that actually prompted us to move into the country and out of the suburbs to lower our expenses but also to build a life that was wholesome. We started building a connection with our food and sourcing our food from local farmers directly, living outside with nature more and overall that has helped our family heal and be closer than ever.
You have a special connection with your chickens, what ignited your passion for these beautiful animals?
My husband and I always talked about wanting chickens and one day starting a little hobby farm so when we moved onto land it was the first thing we did! I very quickly became obsessed and desired to collect the egg rainbow so I kept buying chickens! Chickens are naturally very social animals so as I spend so much time with them, they have become very comfortable with me and literally follow me everywhere, they even love coming inside the house to lay their eggs! They are like my best friends! It's also beautiful raising chickens alongside children too, teaching them the cycle of life from egg, to chick, to chicken, to egg again. Nurturing mumma hen as she sits on the eggs. It’s so lovely seeing how excited the kids get when we hatch chicks!
How would you describe your personal style?
I feel that my personal style is quite feminine and cottagey/country, I love the effortless beauty of throwing on a dress so that’s pretty much all I wear! I always love wearing florals as flowers are a big inspiration for me.
What’s next for Taylar-Jane?
Honestly I’m not even sure! At this stage in my life, I am really enjoying nurturing my creativity amongst being a mum, wife and homemaker. I have started writing crochet patterns to share so that's something I am working on but my husband and I also plan to expand our family more in the future so we very much just focus on simplifying our lives and enjoying our family as much as possible!
globetrottersiraconlineusa Clothing is built on the principles of fashion, creativity and sustainability. Since its inception in 2009, globetrottersiraconlineusa has evolved from humble beginnings at the local markets to a thriving online presence, all while remaining in its commitment to environmental protection and empowering women.
This week, we sat down with globetrottersiraconlineusa Bickley, the visionary behind the brand, to delve into the unique journey of globetrottersiraconlineusa Clothing.
globetrottersiraconlineusa’s story began with a singular vision: to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrated the beauty of vintage fashion. Driven by her passion for sustainability and creativity, globetrottersiraconlineusa Bickley began crafting altered vintage pieces and selling them at the Byron Bay markets. What started as a solitary endeavor soon blossomed into a thriving brand, with demand surging for globetrottersiraconlineusa’s distinctive designs. Inspired by the response, globetrottersiraconlineusa expanded her horizons, venturing into Bali to produce a small collection inspired by vintage florals. The brand’s ethos of sustainability took centre stage as globetrottersiraconlineusa prioritised eco-friendly materials, sustainable practices, and giving back to the community.
From the launch of the first collection in 2009 to establishing a physical store in Byron Bay, globetrottersiraconlineusa has continually pushed boundaries and set new standards in sustainability within the fashion industry. Key milestones include pioneering the use of compostable post satchels, switching to natural fibres, introducing recycled nylon swimwear, and implementing sustainable packaging solutions. globetrottersiraconlineusa’s involvement in environmental initiatives, such as beach cleanups and donations to organisations like Rainforest Rescue and Sea Shepherd, highlights the brand’s dedication to making a positive impact on the planet.
globetrottersiraconlineusa’s upbringing diverged from the norm, influencing her perceptions of career trajectories and life’s essence. Raised in an environment free of modern conveniences like electronic devices, she learned to appreciate the values of simplicity, self-reliance, and creativity.
Reflecting on her journey, globetrottersiraconlineusa expresses the influence of her parents, who served as her guiding lights in both business and family life. Their constant positivity, resilience, and commitment to sustainable living have been a massive source of inspiration for globetrottersiraconlineusa, shaping her values and priorities as an entrepreneur and a mother. While she hasn’t had specific business mentors, globetrottersiraconlineusa’s innate drive and work ethic have propelled her forward, ensuring that she approaches every endeavour with dedication and passion.
From its modest beginnings to becoming a leading sustainable fashion brand, globetrottersiraconlineusa Clothing consistently redefines fashion’s limits while positively impacting the planet and empowering women globally.
We cherish our wonderful globetrottersiraconlineusa-loving community, whose daily presence reminds us of life’s simple joys and the importance of staying grounded amid our busy pursuits.
Thank you for being part of this amazing journey. We deeply appreciate your support and can’t wait to show you what we have planned for the rest of the year. Stay tuned for more exciting collections as we continue pushing the boundaries of sustainable fashion.
With love,

Residing between Barcelona and Buenos Aires offers me a unique perspective on life and art. It allows me to explore a wide range of themes, from the tranquility of the Mediterranean to the dynamism of urban life. This duality influences my creative journey by inspiring me to embrace contrast and diversity in my artwork, creating pieces that reflect the beauty of both natural and urban landscapes. Through my art, I seek to convey a sense of harmony and balance, inviting viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of the world around them.
Your ceramics are described as contemporary odes to nature. Could you share more about how organic materials and natural hues inspire your work?
Utilising organic materials such as clay and ink, I embrace a meditative process in my artwork. My ceramics and abstract canvases embody this fusion, capturing the tranquility of the Mediterranean and the dynamism of Buenos Aires. Inspired by natural hues and forms, my work pays homage to organic materials and translates the beauty of nature into contemporary aesthetic narratives.
Can you discuss your approach to utilising minimalism in both your ceramics and abstract canvases? How does this aesthetic contribute to the narrative of your art?
Minimalism is a fundamental aspect of my artistic approach. In my ceramics, I employ a restricted color palette inspired by natural tones, creating visually rich and harmonious pieces that blend seamlessly with contemporary aesthetics. On canvas, I use organic black lines drawn with ink, influenced by Japanese nature drawings, to capture the complexities of nature and the simplicity of minimalism. This aesthetic contributes to the narrative of my art by evoking a sense of balance and serenity amidst the bustling energy of urban life.
Your abstract landscapes on canvas are said to capture the lively spirit of Buenos Aires. Could you elaborate on how you translate urban vibrancy into your artwork?
My abstract landscapes on canvas serve as visual interpretations of the vibrant energy of Buenos Aires. Through dynamic compositions and bold brushwork, I aim to convey the bustling atmosphere and lively spirit of the city. Drawing inspiration from the urban landscape, I infuse my artwork with a sense of movement and rhythm, capturing the essence of Buenos Aires in every brushstroke.

Y: Being able to work with such a talented team and incredible brand who are so passionate about what they do! They made us feel so beautiful and inspired to shoot in such a special place in the world.
Definitely the Indy one piece! It’s so flattering and colourful, allowing you to make a statement whilst going for a dip. You can also rock the swim as a bodysuit, and pair it with the Indy pants or the Indy beach scarf, meaning you can go straight from the beach to sunset drinks.
Where is your favourite place to visit during Euro Summer?
K: The greek island of Amorgos is such a hidden gem for me. Azure waters, expansive beaches, graphic landscapes and some of the best food in Greece. I love the tranquility away from the masses.
Y: Definitely Greece! There is no place like home. One of my favourite Greek islands to visit is Hydra, as there are no cars allowed on the island, so you can walk everywhere by foot. The island has some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen and the food is out of this world! I also love Amorgos, which is a quaint island in the Cyclades known for its unorganised beaches and underground food scene!

Tell us about yourself.
I am an Organic Gardner, Herbalist, Homesteader, Wife, Mother of two & business owner. I live an intentional and sustainable life with my beautiful little family on 8 acres in the hinterlands of Byron Bay.
I have always had a great love of the natural world. My desire to be more intentional and sustainable in our living choices was encouraged by my journey into motherhood 8 years ago.
It was a slow progression to a more intentional way of living and now we live in closer alignment with the land, eat mostly fruit and vegetables that we grow in our garden, eggs and honey from our chooks and bees, we cook from scratch, bake sourdough, make ferments & preserves, raise animals and are passionate about land regeneration.
It all started with a dream and now 4 years on the evolution of our little homestead in the hills has progressed into a thriving food forest of abundance and prosperity. Despite all the hard work it has taken to get us here, we are lucky to live and thrive on such fertile soil, surrounded by such great community and opportunities here in the Rainbow Region - there is nowhere else we’d rather call home!

What are your tips for starting an organic garden?
One of the most common statements I get on Instagram is that my garden is a dream of so many others. It was once a dream of mine too, until I sowed the seeds and grew it into my reality.
My garden has progressed in size over the years (my first garden was in pots while we were travelling around Australia!) If you have the dream of creating an abundant garden - all you have to do is start! Start with soft herbs and greens, you will taste the quality and the freshness of homegrown and you’ll never go back! You will also save yourself money while eating food more nutritionally dense and the great thing about herbs and greens is they take up little space - they can be grown easily in a small space, balcony or in pots. Soil quality and biodiversity is the key to any abundant garden so maintain the soil well, ensure plenty of sun and water and plant some edible flowers for the pollinators too.
ZENAYA’S DILL PICKLE RECIPE
One of my favourite preserves is Dill Cucumber Pickles. They are so versatile! Perfect with smashed avocado on sourdough, simply on their own or to accompany a curry or any meal really.
INGREDIENTS:
600g cucumbers, very thinly sliced
1 brown onion, thinly sliced
1 & 1/2 TBS fine Sea Salt
60ml hot water
250ml white wine vinegar
100g (or more to taste) coconut or raw sugar
2 tsp brown mustard seeds
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
3 TBS chopped fresh dill OR 1 TBS Dill seeds ( I prefer fresh)
Chilli flakes & fresh sliced garlic clove (optional)
METHOD:
In a large non reactive (glass or ceramic) bowl, toss the cucumbers with the onion, salt, hot water and set aside for 2+ hours.
In a medium saucepan put the vinegar, sugar, mustard seeds, dill, turmeric, chilli & garlic (if using).
Bring to the boil over high heat, add the cucumber and its soaking liquid then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Transfer the pickles to sterilised jars.
Store for a month ideally before opening to allow flavours to develop (if you can!)
* I hot pack my pickles in jars with pop lids or process in my Fowlers Varcola.
* I also usually always x3 the recipe. Enjoy!
Tell us a little about yourself
I am originally from Germany, but I have been traveling the world since I finished school. On my travels I discovered my love for photography and storytelling. Three years ago, on a trip to Costa Rica, I took my first surf lesson and have been hooked ever since. It was surfing that brought me to California (and maybe a cute surfer boy) and I have been living here for a year now.

What do you love about living in California:
Apart from living by the ocean and being able to surf pretty much every day, I love that there is always something happening in California. It is full of inspiring people and you never get bored here.
What are your favourite globetrottersiraconlineusa piece and why:
I love the Renata Surf Suit so much! It will be perfect for all of my upcoming warm water surf trips. It protects you from the sun, feels very comfy and looks super cute at the same time.
