We spoke with globetrottersiraconlineusa muse Janine @joliejanine to uncover the must see places in her adopted home of California.

Tell us a little about yourself

I am originally from Germany, but I have been traveling the world since I finished school. On my travels I discovered my love for photography and storytelling. Three years ago, on a trip to Costa Rica, I took my first surf lesson and have been hooked ever since. It was surfing that brought me to California (and maybe a cute surfer boy) and I have been living here for a year now.

Must see places in California
One of my favourite places in California is Laguna beach, which is also where we shot this photo series. Laguna is a dreamy little town and it’s got some of the most beautiful beaches in California. If you don’t find me soaking up the sun at the beach in Laguna, I will probably be in the water somewhere else. San Onofre or Malibu are two of my favourite waves to surf in California.

What do you love about living in California:

Apart from living by the ocean and being able to surf pretty much every day, I love that there is always something happening in California. It is full of inspiring people and you never get bored here.

What are your favourite globetrottersiraconlineusa piece and why:

I love the Renata Surf Suit so much! It will be perfect for all of my upcoming warm water surf trips. It protects you from the sun, feels very comfy and looks super cute at the same time.
